Church School Year

Harvest Service

Our harvest service takes place in the Autumn Term. It is a wonderful opportunity to see friends and family join us incelebration at church.

Each Class contributes with prayers, poems, hymns or some background information about the year's chosen charity. By doing small chores at home in exchange for donations, our pupils raise an impressive amount each year. Most recently this was over £500 for Care International.

Remembrance Sunday

Our Remembrance Service takes place in school with Fr. Tom. Our school hall is transformed into a beautiful space for reflection and prayer where children take time to think about those who have given up their lives for our freedom.

A Christmas Journey

Our Year 2 children visit St. Mary Magdalene Church in Prudhoe to take part in their very own Christmas Journey. They are welcomed into Bethlehem and listen to first-hand stories from the soldiers, Mary and Joseph, wise men, shepherds and angels.

Christmas Service

Our Autumn Term comes to a peaceful end with a festive church service held at St. Mary the Virgin, Ovingham. It's a wonderful opportunity to be joined by family and friends in church and hear the Christmas story told by Year Four and re-enacted at the alter by Year Two pupils.

Christmas Nativity

Traditionally, the Nativity story is performed by KS1 with wonderful costumes, acting and singing by all. KS2 children perform a very festive version of a Roald Dahl story, bringing much laughter and enjoyment to the end of the term.

With recent restrictions to social gatherings, our festive performanes have taken the form of outdoor carol singing for the residents of Wellburn Residents Home.
